And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it (Numbers 13:30).
God instructed Moses to send twelve spies out to survey the Promised Land and report back with their findings. After forty days they returned and reported it to be a land that “flows with milk and honey” (Numbers 13:27).
However, ten of the spies gave an unfavorable report (Numbers 13:28-29). The text says, “Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30). Too many times, like the ten spies, we walk by sight and not by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7).
When it comes to the mighty work of God, we need to have the confidence and faith of Caleb that says, “we are well able” to get it done!
