The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7).
How vital it is for man to have reverence toward God! Surely we all know people who lack that reverence and we might even be impressed by the knowledge of certain things they seem to possess. Do we then doubt the truthfulness of this statement? No, we must not! Certainly, men can learn things in this orderly universe God has created.
The kind of learning that ultimately will benefit me when I walk about on this marvelous earth, created by God, is the kind that comes to me when I place due regard upon the Source of all true knowledge. To do otherwise is to despise wisdom and instruction.
