What God Requires
The Tenth of Romans teaches us that our faith is the product of the Word of God. Because the Hebrew writer pointed out that it is impossible for God to lie, God’s testimony is all that is necessary to prove anything. For this reason, Biblically-based faith is self-evidencing and provides substance to things for which we hope in eternity, though those things be as yet unseen. Without such a faith, it is impossible to please God. The faith of the New Testament not only acknowledges the God of Heaven but also manifests itself by diligently seeking God in the ways and manners prescribed in His Word. To not be a student of that Word is to fail at the faith it advocates and to remain ignorant of what God requires.
