…I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak (Numbers 24:13).

Balaam expressed faithfulness to speak what God wanted spoken. He could have gone beyond what God commanded, but faithfulness to the Heavenly Father constrained him. Balaam’s loyalty to God required no compromising of God’s commands. Many religious problems exist because of attitudes which are different from Balaam’s. How many of God’s commands are transgressed? How much of the truth has been compromised because people will not speak what God wants spoken?

Most of the religious world is confused, led astray, and lost because of a “Burger King” attitude: have-it-your-way. Balaam was not like that. He said, “I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD…” and “…what the LORD saith, that will I speak.” What dedication! What loyalty! What faithfulness!
