Almost is Still Lost

A wealthy young man came to the Savior at the Nineteenth of Matthew and asked what he might lack to inherit eternal life. When the Lord told him to disconnect himself from his attachment to his many possessions, he went away sorrowful. Under other circumstances, one might be pleased to learn that only one thing stands between him and perfection; yet, how many underestimate what they stand to lose because of a single spiritual problem? At the Twenty-Sixth of Acts, King Agrippa heard the defense of Paul the apostle, as well as references to fulfillment of prophecy, and said he was almost persuaded to be a Christian. Regardless of what stood between Agrippa and conversion, almost is still lost.
