Daily Lift – September 27, 2015

And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands (1 Samuel 17:47).

The righteous man understands he is always in a battle. The young shepherd boy in Israel watched His God being defied long enough. He would change the course of the stand still. David knew it was not through him that victory would be gained, but through the LORD. Truly, the battle belonged to the LORD. The great Philistine giant would be defeated by one of the lowliest in Israel proving that the lowliest with God’s help can defeat the greatest with Satan!

So, the next time you think Satan has the edge on you with his treats and intimidation, remember the words of the he-doesn’t-stand-a-chance-shepherd-boy (cf. I Samuel 17:33) “the battle is the LORD’s.
