Our Permanent Dwelling –
Upon the instruction of Jehovah God, the ancient people Israel completed and erected the Tabernacle after arriving at Sinai. It was there that God made His presence known by a cloud during the day and by a pillar of fire at night. Within its compartment known as the Holy of Holies, the Tabernacle housed the Ark of the Covenant, from which also God made known His presence. Though sacred, the Tabernacle was a portable tent, and we cannot be certain what became of it. Interestingly, at Second Corinthians Five, Paul the Apostle referred to the body as a tabernacle. Though the body is temporary, like the original tabernacle, God dwells within the heart of man by faith through the Word. The indwelling of God by his Spirit will manifest itself by wonderful spiritual qualities that Paul described at the Fifth of Galatians. When the tabernacle of the Christian’s physical self is one day gone, it is replaced by what Paul describes as an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. If God is present with us in our tabernacle, He will be also in our permanent dwelling .
