Though it is similar in appearance to the word “Sabbath, ” there is no relationship in the two. God is Lord of Hosts in more than a single sense. He is Lord of the host of angels, and there are many. At the Twenty Sixth of Matthew, the Savior declared He could summon more than twelve legions of them. A legion is as many as six thousand. So, the Lord had at His command more than Seventy Two Thousand angels. Yet, God is Lord of the host of humanity . At the Twenty Second of Genesis, God told Abraham that his seed alone would be as the stars of the heaven and the sand of the sea. Even so, how sad it is that, of the way unto life, our Savior said only a few would find it, though God is Lord of Hosts .
