Glory of God the Father –
At the Twenty Third of Matthew’ s Gospel, the Savior decried the scribes and Pharisees for a number of things, including their affinity for being addressed as “Rabbi. ” The title literally translates as “my great one,” and was hardly suitable for any man. For this reason, the Lord placed everyone on equal status by describing them all as brethren, and Christ as their Master. It was Nicodemus who was among those making proper application of the title when he addressed the Savior as “Rabbi” at John Three. Nathanael did the same at John One. At Philippians Two, Paul the Apostle described just how undeserving mere persons are of such exalted titles by describing just how deserving Jesus Christ is of them. “God hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven and things in earth, and things under the earth; and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ”
