If We Faint Not

The Eleventh of the Hebrew Epistle describes faith as the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Because the basis of faith is the testimony of God Who cannot lie, faith is the tangibility of as yet unrealized eternal things. Because God’s testimony is the only proof necessary for anything, faith, still based on Divine truth, is evidence of the as yet unseen. Those who possess such a faith demonstrate it in overt manners, and Hebrews Eleven provides the names of at least sixteen persons who did so. We are called upon to do the same, for it is impossible to please God in any other way. Our faith is manifested not only by the acknowledgment of the reality and existence of the Almighty, but also by diligently seeking Him. That diligence indicates that the faith of the New Testament is not passive, but active. For knowledge of that promised heavenly country, that faith is renewed every morning. As Paul admonished the Galatian churches, “…let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
