And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? (Genesis 4:9).

As a child, most of us have heard the story of Cain and Abel. One offered an acceptable sacrifice. The other did not. As a result of his rage, he slew his own brother!
God asked Cain where is your brother Abel. It was not that God did not know. He knew! He wanted Cain to give account. His answer to God is a phrase worthy of our notation.
Whether we like it, recognize it, enjoy it – we are our brother’s keeper! As we walk through the New Testament we hear the phrase “one another” so many times. Love, exhort, prefer, admonish, be kind to “one another.”
May we strive to walk together, in unity and love, toward the end of our pilgrimage here on earth.
