As a nation, we are a people who believe in the right of every person to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The problem arises when we begin to define the best way to achieve that elusive goal of happiness. Jesus defines it for us.
Real happiness is one that meets with God’s approval. And that is realized when one “hears the word of God and keeps it.”
Many things in life can bring one a measure of joy, but the highest joy is realized when we have the assurance that God is pleased with us. That joy can only be ours by hearing His word and obeying it.
