Sincerely Offered

The ancient Israelites of the Mosaic age were directed at the Twentieth of Exodus to observe the seventh day as a day of rest. To make such an observance would require forethought and diligence during the six days of labor so that no task would interrupt the sabbath. In the Christian age, the saints are directed at the Tenth of Hebrews not to forsake the assembling of themselves together. Again, the importance of the Christian day of worship requires forethought so that the opportunity to assemble for worship is not lost and also so that we may be prepared to properly engage in it. The Savior taught at the Fourth of John’s Gospel that God is a Spirit Who must be worshiped in spirit and in truth. This requires the engagement of the heart so that the sacrifice of worship might be sincerely offered.
