When is Due Season

The Twenty Eighth of Matthew records the resurrection of Jesus Christ. When the angel of the Lord descended and opened the tomb, Roman guards assigned to keep the sepulcher shook for fear, and became as dead men. It is apparent the guards did not simply become weakened from fright, but absolutely fainted and were completely immobilized. The apostle Paul uses the word “faint” at the Sixth of Galatians, but not in the sense of immobilization. Rather, at Verse Nine, he refers to discouragement resulting in an interruption of service to God. Paul admonishes us not to be weary in well doing, for we will reap in due season if we faint not. Because it is God Who determines the season when crops are ready to be harvested, it is God Who will determine also when the fruit of faithful spiritual labor is ready to be borne. They faint who are discouraged, and they are discouraged who would attempt to decide in God’s stead when is due season.
