For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16).
Why would anyone be ashamed of the gospel? That word “ashamed” means to be disgraced or embarrassed by something. In everyday life that embarrassment can become all too real, can’t it?
We have every reason to share the gospel with others. Romans 1:16 offers at least two reasons why we should not be ashamed of the gospel:
1. Because of its nature. It is powerful. It originated with God, centers on Jesus Christ, and was revealed by the Holy Spirit. Amazing!
2. Because of our need. Only the gospel can save. It is able to save every man – “the Jew first, and also … the Greek.”With whom will you share the gospel today?
