Habitation of God Through the Spirit
At Second Chronicles Twelve, it is said of King Rhehoboam that he did evil because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord. Preparing the hearts of men to receive the Lord was precisely the mission of John the Baptist, who taught that such preparation is accomplished by repentance. When the heart is thus prepared, Paul wrote at the Third of Ephesians that Christ would dwell there by faith. Nearly fifteen hundred years before Christ, God told ancient Israel in detail how to construct His tabernacle, and the glory of the Lord filled it when it was completed. As a place where God manifested His presence, the tabernacle required a great deal of preparation. So also must we prepare ourselves to be an habitation of God through the Spirit.
