And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers (Deuteronomy 6:18).
There is a simple maxim in life, if one does what God wishes then He will bless him. For the children of Israel this promise related to their entering and possessing the promised land. There is still “good news” for the child of God today.
The writer of Hebrews focused on a better place that awaits those who do that which is right and good. “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God” (Hebrews 4:9). God confirmed His promise with an oath. He keeps His word. Everyone should take great comfort in the fact that God does not and cannot lie (Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18).
