Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world (Matthew 25:34).
We live in an ever changing world. Just think of the changes that have occurred in the areas of technology and medicine within the past 50 years. Today, new things get old quickly.
With the constant changing about us, is there anything on which we can rely? Even the heaven above us, and the earth on which we live, will one day be destroyed (2 Peter 3:10-13). Is there anything that lasts forever? Jesus reassures us by saying that although heaven and earth shall pass away, His words will not pass away. We have a constant moral and doctrinal compass on which we can depend. It is the unchanging standard by which we should live and by which we shall be judged (John 12:48). Although we live in a changing world, the Word of God does not change and is eternal (cf. 1 Peter 1:25).
