Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel (Joshua 24:23).
Now therefore,” he said, “put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the LORD God of Israel.”
Obstinacy and betrayal are traits seldom acknowledged by humans. These traits are especially despicable to our Heavenly Father. But note the passionate plea of our God: “incline your heart to the LORD God of Israel.”
The One-All powerful God wants your allegiance to Himself. Why? Because unlike the gods we fashion, our Creator provides everything needed for life and godliness. Don’t you think it’s time to sign your declaration of dependence on Him?
