Heavenly Land of Promise

At First Corinthians Ten, Paul the apostle described Israel as having been baptized unto Moses in the sea. The figurative reference is to that of Israel’s deliverance from the Egyptians when God caused the Red Sea to divide, allowing His chosen ones to cross on dry land. Now free from Egyptian bondage, they were subject to the leadership God would provide through Moses. Similarly, when one obeys the Gospel of Christ by baptism for the remission of sins, he is freed from the bondage of sin and is subject unto God through Christ. Moses began the task of leading the Israelites toward the land that had been promised unto them, and only the faithful would inherit it. The faithful followers of Christ, in like manner, will one day see the Heavenly land of promise.
