Blessing and Privilege
Solomon observed at the First of Proverbs that it is the fool who despises wisdom and instruction, though it is in the fear of God that we discover the beginning of knowledge. There appears in the proverb an unmistakable relationship in the three principles of knowledge, wisdom, and the fear of the Lord. There also appears there, and in the First of James, an unmistakable indication of the Divine origin of both knowledge and wisdom in their highest forms, for those desiring it are exhorted to seek it of God. As men of wisdom, Stephen and his colleagues of the Sixth of Acts are shown as examples of those who acquired knowledge of the Word and became wise by the proper application of what they were blessed and privileged to know. Within His Word, God shares with each of us that same blessing and privilege.
