And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled (Judges 7:21).

Gideon’s army was “outnumbered” (300 to 135,000) and “outgunned” (trumpets, pitchers and torches vs. swords in every hand). But, Gideon’s 300 had one advantage that Midian did not – GOD! Th Midianites were “outmatched”!

There are times when, in our service to the Lord, we may feel “outnumbered” and “outgunned.” Nevertheless, let us rest assured that “if God be for us,” we can never be “outmatched” (Romans 8:31)!

If you find yourself alone, stand squarely on God’s truth and defend it, and, like Shammah, the Lord will bring “a great victory” (2 Samuel 23:11-12). And when together, stand firm, shoulder-to-shoulder with brethren, and the enemy will flee (Philippians 1:27).
