Daily Lift – February 22, 2015

Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger (Lamentations 1:12).

A grieving person may feel all alone, as if no one cares. People may not, but God does. Moses told the children of Israel as they prepared to enter the promised land that the Lord would go with them. He also reassured them that God would never forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6, 8). God similarly promised Joshua, the new leader of Israel, that He would be with him and never forsake him (Joshua 1:5).

Our God is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). The Lord stood by Paul when men left him at his first trial. He delivered and Paul said He would deliver (2 Timothy 4:16-18).
