My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not (Proverbs 1:10).

Temptation is universal. It knocks on the door of every man’s heart. It waits patiently, looking for a moment of weakness to draw men away from God. “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” (James 1:14).

When sinners entice the sons and daughters of God, what shall they do? How shall they respond? The wise man wrote, “Consent thou not”. In other words, just say no. Do not give in to the calling of sin. Resist temptation steadfast in the faith (1 Peter 5:9).

What will today unfold for you? Temptation may be hours or even minutes away from the door of your heart. If sinners entice you this day, what will your answer be?
