The Savior Himself
Those of worldly persuasion may feel insulted or intimidated when those of the Christian community will not accept their ungodliness. When the world reacts negatively to the Church, it is reacting just as many of the ancients reacted to Christ Himself. However, those that respond favorably to the message of truth are as those who would have readily accepted the Lord as the promised Savior. At the Fifteenth of John, the Lord told His disciples that the servant was not greater than his lord. Therefore, those that would hate the Lord’s own are those who would hate the Lord, and those that would persecute the Lord’s own are those that would persecute the Lord. Thankfully, those that obey the Gospel as it is faithfully preached today are those who would keep the sayings of the Savior Himself.
