Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
The penalty for sin is so severe and the
reward for godliness is so great that each
Christian is called to help each other so that we
all can enjoy Heaven together. The previous verse
discusses a brother who is overtaken in sin and
the Christian responsibility to help in meekness.
Life sometimes is a burden to bear and we need
a helping hand to make it through. Perhaps the
temptation caught him unprepared, possibly
he blindly stepped into temptation, or possibly
his error may have been the way he entered
into temptation.
The Gospel is the Law of Christ and we have
a responsibility to help each other bear the
burdens of life.
