Daily Lift – December 01, 2016

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD (Psalm 122:1).

Some attend worship with a sense of dread. They do not come with joy. They are only glad when the last “Amen” is said. When services are over, they will say: “I did not get a thing out of that.”

Others attend worship with gladness. The psalmist did. “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” These individuals sing with joy, pray with fervor, listen to the lesson intently, are humbled before the Lord’s Table, and give cheerfully of their means. They deeply enjoy the worship that others ridicule. After the services are over they say: “I wish we did not have to leave.”
