Daily Lift – December 12, 2015

So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work (Nehemiah 4:6).

The wall was a disaster at this moment in history. It reflected poorly upon the elect of God. Nehemiah wanted to do something! But what a major undertaking!

Nehemiah assessed the task. He organized the work force, dividing them into assigned jobs. They went to work. The tremendous job was completed in less than 60 days! Unbelievable! How? Impossible upon first consideration.

The key element was “the people had a mind to work” and were determined to complete it. Though there were mockers and those who sought to discourage – they kept working. Though it was necessary to have a weapon in one hand and a tool in the other – they kept on working. With the help of Almighty God the work was completed. To God be the glory.
