Qualities Were Exemplified
Though Stephen is described as full of faith, he and his six colleagues of Acts Chapter Six are all described as being full of the Holy Ghost. Interestingly, those qualities exist in tandem one with another. The Tenth of Romans teaches us that faith is derived from the Word of God, while Paul wrote also at Second Timothy Two that one must give diligence to learn to handle aright the Word of Truth. It is by the resulting faith that Paul said Christ dwells in the heart, according to Ephesians Three, while John Fourteen shows the Spirit, or Holy Ghost, to be the means by which Christ indwells the heart of man. John Fifteen also indicates Christ’s indwelling to be by the Word. Stephen is a man in whom all these qualities were exemplified.
