Full of the Holy Ghost

Our relationship in Scripture with Stephen is but brief. We are introduced to him at the Sixth of Acts, only to lose him to martyrdom at Chapter Seven. Yet, it seems to require but a few lines of the Holy Writ to impress upon us the quality of the man who died as well as he lived. At the Twenty-Third of Luke, the Savior asked God to forgive those who crucified Him out of ignorance, while Stephen asked God to lay not the sin of his murder to his murderers. Dying, Jesus commended His Spirit into the hands of His Father, while Stephen called upon the Lord Jesus to receive his spirit. Perhaps no person more Christ-like than Stephen can be known, who lived, and died, full of faith, full of wisdom, and full of the Holy Ghost.
