Through Our Lord Jesus Christ
At First John Two, the apostle warned us about the lusts of the flesh and the eyes, and the pride of life that define the sinful world. If man loves those things, John wrote, the love of the Father is not in him. For this cause, the Fourth of James cautions us that friendship with the world amounts to enmity with God. Those having established such a state of enmity with God are called upon to reconcile with Him. Such a peace-making reconciliation would not be possible without the Savior. At the Second of Ephesians, Christ is described as being our peace and making peace, having slain enmity by His cross. Paul wrote at the Fifth of Romans that we are justified by faith and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
