The Hebrew writer says, “We must give the more earnest heed…” (Hebrews 2:1). Only by committing the Word of God to our heart (mind) and making application of it to our lives will we not drift away.
The Bereans provide an excellent example of giving earnest attention whenever God’s Word was proclaimed (Acts 17:11).
Do not neglect the opportunities of both study and proclamation of the unsearchable riches of God. Failure to pay constant attention leads to drifting, and drifting leads us away from God, away from His Son, and away from His church.
