Perfect Will of God
Pride may manifest itself as an inordinate desire for acceptance. This is because rejection often results in an injury to one’s pride. For this reason, one may attempt the appeasement of his pride by launching an untethered quest for acceptance. Such acceptance often requires conformity with those whose acceptance one seeks. However, the Twelfth of Romans admonishes us not to be conformed to the carnal world, for to do so makes us unacceptable as a living sacrifice in service to God.
Rather, we are called upon to renew the mind, or alter our thinking about conformity to the world, and be instead transformed to demonstrate in our lives the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
