In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14).
Redeemed! Forgiven! – such encouraging words. Christians are people who have been redeemed from their sins. They have been forgiven all their trespasses. Paul reminded the Colossians they were redeemed in Christ and it was through His (Christ’s) blood.
It has always been important to be in the God appointed place at the God appointed time. Noah and his family were blessed in the ark. When God brought the plague of death upon the firstborn of Egypt, Israel was spared by being in the house with the blood of the lamb on the post and lintel of the door. Today, we are saved from spiritual death by being in Christ. Our redemption price is the blood of Jesus. This blood atonement is applied to our sins when we are baptized “into his death” (Romans 6:3-4). Have you been baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38)?
