Daily Lift – July 28, 2015

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him (James 1:12).

The trials of life can make us bitter or better. James exhorted “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience” (James 1:2–3).

Just as gold is purified from its dross by fire, so can the outward trials aid in the purifying of our souls as we come away with a stronger, deeper and abiding faith in God.

We, as God’s sheep, can trust our great Shepherd, even when we are in the valley. The blessed man, however, is the one who endures the temptation. God will reward him with the “crown of life.
