But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully (2 Corinthians 9:6).
“The liberal soul shall be made fat” (Proverbs 11:25). The one who gives to bless others cannot escape being blessed himself. Paul used a well-known principle from farming to reinforce this point. Sow little = reap little. Sow much = reap much. “Little” and “much” is determined not by the amount but by the proportion we give. Jesus expressed the same point in His teaching.
“Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give unto your bosom, for with the same measure that ye mete withal shall it be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38).
