Proper Place in Our Hearts

Because Samuel’s sons were corrupt, First Samuel Eight records the displeasure of the Israelite nation at the thought of them serving as judges. Therefore, they asked for a king to judge them instead. While the sins of Samuel’s sons cannot be denied, one might wonder why any would reject the lordship of Christ in the Kingdom of the Church. During His ministry, John Ten tells us that the Jews took up stones against the Savior. Jesus responded to say that He had shown them many good works from the Father, then asked them for which of those good works they would stone Him. The Savior offers us every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. For which of these would we refuse Him His proper place in our hearts?
