Daily Lift – March 15, 2015

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

Some claim the Bible is an antiquated book with no relevance to the modern day. The Hebrews writer would disagree, stating that it “is living and active.” We dare not change God’s Book. The message of the Bible is just as needed in our modern world as it was when the writers originally penned the words. Scripture addresses man’s every need in a real and active way.

That knowledge sometimes cuts us like the sword of which the Hebrews writer spoke. Often, we may need to be “cut to the heart,” like the listeners in Acts 2. Only the eternal and living Word of God can accomplish that goal.

It IS the Word of God, and IS living. Will you let it affect your daily decisions?
