All Good Works

Contingent upon their obedience, the Savior promised His disciples that, after His departure, He would pray the Father to send them the Spirit of Truth. Later in the context, the Lord spoke interchangeably of Himself and the Spirit coming to them. While the Fourteenth of John shows this to be the manner in which Christ would be in them, Chapter Fifteen quotes the Lord as speaking interchangeably about Him and His Word dwelling in the disciples, as they dwelt in Him. It becomes certain, then, that Christ, His Word, and His Spirit by which that Word is inspired are all inseparably bound together. Hence, Paul wrote at Second Timothy Three that the inspired Word is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction, and that it perfects and completely furnishes us unto all good works.
