Keep His Commandments

As David called upon all lands to make a joyful noise unto the Lord, one of the reasons he gave for offering such praise unto God was, simply expressed, His goodness. At Psalm One Hundred, David observed multiple ways in which God manifests His goodness. Among them is His everlasting mercy. Approximately five hundred years prior, God had promised mercy unto those that loved Him and kept His commandments. About five centuries later, David knew God to be keeping that promise, for David also observed that the truth of God endures unto all generations. There is a certain relationship in the truth of God and the mercy of God, for the former declares how that one may benefit from the latter. Because Divine truth is enduring, it remains just as true that God’s mercy is reserved for those that love Him and keep His commandments.
