Faithfulness of a Just God

At the Twenty-Second Psalm, David wrote that he was poured out like water. A similar expression is made at the Second of Lamentations, where the people are called upon to pour out their hearts like water in the presence of the Lord. It may be a type of this that is intended by the penitent Israelites of First Samuel Seven. Assembling at Mizpah, they drew and poured out water as they fasted and confessed that they had sinned against the Lord, and Samuel interceded for them before the Lord. First John One teaches us the worth of confession of sin when we are promised the cleansing efficacy of the blood of Jesus Christ and forgiveness of sin as an expression of the faithfulness of a just God.
