Daily Lift – May 21, 2015

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost (Romans 15:13).

Hope is the expectation of the end. Hope is that which keeps all men pushing forward in their endeavors. God is “the God of hope.” God reveals the hope of the resurrection, the hope of heaven, and the hope of everlasting life. Those who believe in these things will be filled with all joy and peace. Those who live without them are of all men most miserable.

Hope involves earnest desire and eager expectation. Believers not only desire the joy of the hereafter, they expect to receive it. In fact, they superabound in hope. Their hope is secure because it is promised by the Father, written in God’s Word, sealed with Jesus’ blood, and seen through the eye of faith. From those who possess it, it can never be taken away. Our prayer is that you “abound in hope.”
