Daily Lift – November 07, 2016

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment (Exodus 23:2).

Peer pressure has been in existence since the beginning of civilization. For centuries people have been swayed by popular opinion. But being popular with men is not only overrated, but it is, in its essence, sinful.

John observed, “We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19). Jesus also said that the road to hell is wide (Matthew 7:13).

God’s sheep are His because they do not listen to or follow any other voice than that of the Shepherd (John 10:27). This leads them to still waters and green pastures (Psalm 23:2). This gives them the peace of mind and the comfort of righteousness that can never be obtained by following the crowd.
