Daily Lift – November 13, 2016

Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end (Psalm 119:33).

The Bible has a lot to say about “the way.” Jesus emphatically declared, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me” (John 14:6). The way to the Father is called a way of holiness (Isaiah 35:8). Much like Jesus, Jeremiah said there was one way (Jeremiah 32:39).

Scripture also warns us there is a way that seems right to a man but ends in destruction (Proverbs 14:12). Although that is a terrifying thought, there is comfort in knowing that God will teach us the difference between the broad path which seems right and leads to destruction and the narrow way that leads to life in Him (Matthew 7:13-14). The grace of God teaches us the way of salvation (Titus 2:11-12) and the Psalmist says it is His Word. The Lord will teach us His statutes, will we keep them until the end?
