I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19).
Life is all about choices, from the simple to the profound. What will I eat? What will I wear? Where will I live? Will I go to college? What do I want to do for a living? We frequently focus on the blessing of having so many things to choose from and the freedom to make those choices, but do we consider the burden of choosing wisely? There are consequences to our choices. God, by way of His prophet Moses, made this frighteningly clear to His people Israel. God is sovereign, and yet He allows us to choose for ourselves. Free will is a blessing to us, but it comes with grave responsibility. God allows us to choose, but with that freedom comes the consequences of our choices and ultimately those choices come down to two destinies: life and death, heaven and hell, blessings or curses. Choose wisely.
