Daily Lift – November 26, 2015

But godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6).

Paul exhorted his son in the faith Titus to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to “live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world” (Titus 2:11-12).

What do we consider as GREAT in this life? Wealth? Power? Popularity? Children? Grandchildren? Financial security? Good health? While these things are certainly not evil in themselves, they are NOT what God recognizes as great. Solomon sought after many things, seeking happiness and contentment. Ultimately he concluded, “all is vanity.”

Friends, let us understand that being righteous in God’s sight is far more valuable than gold and silver. Godliness is THE most important of all matters.
