Sowers of the. seed of the Gospel have become discouraged when audiences overtly reject it or passively fail to accept it. The Savior’s Parable of the Sower at the Thirteenth of Matthew depicts those who for a lack of understanding, want of enduring faith, or failure to forsake worldliness, all proved to be spiritually unfruitful. However, Jesus said all with ears should hear the parable. What the audiences will hear is a call to prepare the soil of their hearts to receive the seed of the Word. What the sowers of that seed will hear is a call to sow it everywhere, without regard to any presuppositions of success or failure. Somewhere will be found the good soil that brings forth fruit as much as a hundredfold.
