This verse explains the wondrous love that both Christ and God have for us in Jesus coming to live and die for each of us. Christ’s sacrifice took care of man’s problem which is sin (Hebrews 2:17-18; 4:14-16; 7:25-27).

Christ delivered us from this present evil age. Paul admonishes Titus that no one should live ungodly or immorally but rather live soberly, righteously and godly in this present age (Titus 2:11-12). Indeed, this world is evil and those who live for it will spend eternity paying the price for their poor choices. When we think of what Jesus did for us, surely all of us will love Him, not this present world.

If one can ever fathom that divine decision made before we were ever made, one cannot help but want to love, serve, and obey Jesus.
