But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
Four descriptions of the church and then take a look at that purpose for its existence given by the inspired apostle Peter. Is there a more meaningful position to occupy anywhere at any time? To bring forth praise to God is the greatest possible use of our feeble human existence.
Many are stumbling in the darkness who could be directed to the marvelous light they seek if Christians could only see themselves in the way Peter helps us to see ourselves here.
The holy word of God is the treasure which must be shared with those in darkness by His special people!
