But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).
A “working knowledge” of the sacred Scriptures is very important when answering questions from those seeking to know the truth. The apostle Paul, giving instruction to his child in the faith, Timothy, said, “study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). Paul admonished him “to give diligence” to keep on studying!
One soul is more valuable than all the world! (Matthew 16:24). Christians should always be looking for opportunities to share the gospel with others! Jesus came “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). We must realize there is only ONE THING that can set lost souls free from the shackles of sin, and our Lord told us what that one thing is “the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32; cf. Romans 1:16).
